New Delhi (Vishvas News). On October 10 and 11, 2026, the national capital Delhi witnessed protests by the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP). Several railway trains were canceled and metro stations were kept closed to manage the protesters. A video purportedly linked to these protests is now going viral on social media. It is being claimed that the video was filmed at the Delhi railway station and shows a massive traffic jam outside the station caused by the protests.
Vishvas News conducted a detailed investigation into the viral video and found it to be misleading. The video is not from Delhi, but from Sealdah railway station in Kolkata, where a student protest took place in July 2016. An old video from that time is now being circulated with the false claim that it shows a protest in Delhi. Vishvas News has fact-checked several social media posts linked to the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’; these can be read here.
What is going viral?
On October 10, 2026, the Facebook page ‘Atarangi Khabar’ shared a video with the following caption, “Massive protest and traffic jam: Huge crowds gather outside Delhi Railway Station; many passengers miss their trains! A large-scale protest outside Delhi Railway Station on Saturday led to a severe traffic jam. The situation became so difficult that railway passengers faced major hurdles in reaching the station, and as a result of the traffic congestion, many even missed their trains.” It is clearly visible in the video how a massive crowd got onto the streets, with an atmosphere of chaos all around.

The content of the viral post is written here exactly as it appears. Many social media users are sharing it, believing it to be true. An archived version of the post can be viewed here.
Investigation
To uncover the truth behind the viral video, Vishvas News first extracted several keyframes from it. We then searched these keyframes using Google Lens. We found that this video had been shared elsewhere earlier. An Instagram account named ‘Faruk Biswas’ (faruk.biswas.581730) had shared the video on July 24, 2026, claiming that it showed the student protests in Kolkata.

We also found this video on a Facebook page named ‘KaimurLive’. The caption read, “Student protests are ongoing in several parts of the country, including Kolkata. Today, a massive crowd of students was seen on the streets of Kolkata. #NEETPaperLeak”

Taking the investigation further, Vishvas News searched for information about Sealdah railway station. We found a YouTube video showing the area outside the station. Several similarities were observed between this video and the video claimed to show a railway station in Delhi.
Upon closer inspection, a canopy outside the station was visible in both videos. Furthermore, the name ‘English Bazar’ was visible in the video showing the station. A careful look at the viral video also reveals a yellow taxi, of the type commonly seen in Kolkata.

During the investigation, Vishvas News also contacted ‘Kaimur Live’. They informed us that the viral video is old and it shows Sealdah railway station in Kolkata.
What is the context?
In Delhi and elsewhere in the country, various opposition parties-including the Congress, held protests demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. They alleged that ‘vote theft’ was taking place during the ‘Special Intensive Revision’ (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Thousands of people were taken into custody during a protest in Delhi. Although permission had not been granted for a demonstration at Jantar Mantar, thousands gathered at various locations across Delhi. A report published by ‘Jagran.com’ on October 10, 2026 provides further details.
Finally, we examined the Facebook page that shared the video from Kolkata with a false claim. We found that the page has over 6,000 followers. The page is managed from Gorakhpur and was created on May 3, 2026.
Conclusion: An investigation by Vishvas News has revealed that the viral post is misleading. An old video from Sealdah railway station in Kolkata is being circulated with the false claim that it shows the Delhi railway station. The original video was shared in July 2026 and it has no connection to the protests that took place in Delhi on October 10 and 11, 2026.
