New Delhi (Vishvas News). A video showing heavily flooded streets is going viral on social media, with users claiming that it depicts the recent flood situation in Rajasthan’s Sawai Madhopur.
Vishvas News, in its investigation, found this claim to be false. This video is actually AI-generated.
What is viral?
Instagram user ‘BP Public News‘ shared the viral video (archive link) on August 25, 2025, with the caption “People in Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan are pleading for mercy from Mother Nature due to the fury of nature.”
Investigation
To investigate the viral post, we analysed the video closely and noticed several discrepancies. For instance, the goats seen in the clip had two heads, raising suspicion that this clip could be AI-generated.
To verify further, we decided to analyse the video using the AI detection tools. The Hive Moderation Tool indicated a 99.9% probability of the video being AI-generated.
Another AI detection tool, Cantilux, also indicated over 80% probability of it being AI-generated.
We also spoke to Azhar Machwe, an AI and emerging technologies expert, who confirmed that the video was created using AI technology.
While searching with relevant keywords, we came across several news reports on the flood situation in Sawai Madhopur.
According to a Times of India report dated August 25, 2025, “A massive crater has formed in Rajasthan’s Sawai Madhopur district after relentless rainfall led to the overflowing of the Surwal Dam, triggering land collapses and widespread flooding across several villages on Sunday. A large portion of land near the village caved in, leaving behind a gaping crater and cutting off access routes. Entire settlements, including Surwal, Dhanoli, Gogor, Jadavata, Shesha, and Machhipura, are now submerged, with hundreds of homes inundated.”
Facebook user ‘BP Public News‘, who shared the viral video, has over 10000 followers.
