Investigation

To investigate the viral video, Vishvas News first extracted several keyframes from it. We then searched them using Google Lens tool. We found the original video on the official YouTube channel of the Congress party, which premiered on August 22, 2026. The video was from the “Chhatron Ki Goonj” event held in Pune, Maharashtra. Vishvas News listened to the entire video carefully.

In fact, around the one-hour mark of this video, Rahul Gandhi says, “Mohan Bhagwat says rape happens in India, and rape doesn’t happen in Bharat. Khattar says that 80 percent of rapes happen because of women. This is a mindset. We are fighting this mindset. What is this mindset? A girl belongs in one place. She should be caged. She should be under control. She shouldn’t work, and boys should have complete freedom. Boys can do whatever they want. If they want to abuse someone, they can. If they want to work, they can work. We don’t want such an India. We want justice. Everyone should be respected. Boys should be respected. Girls should be respected.”

Manohar Lal Khattar’s statement caused considerable uproar. While the Congress party called it anti-women and demanded an apology, Khattar clarified that his statement was misinterpreted.

On the other hand, we found a statement made by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in a new report published on the BBC Hindi website dated January 4, 2013. According to the report, “During his recent visit to Silchar, Bhagwat reportedly said, such crimes are less in Bharat and more in India.”
