Fact Check: This Video Of A Young Kicking Muslim Girls Is From Bangladesh, Not India

New Delhi (Vishvas News). A video is going viral on various social media platforms. A boy can be seen misbehaving with schoolgirls and kicking a student wearing a white hijab. The video is being shared by many social media users with the claim that Muslim girls are being subjected to such disrespectful treatment under the BJP government in India.

Vishvas News investigated the viral claim in detail and found it to be false. The viral video has no connection to India. The incident actually occurred in Bangladesh. In Kanchpur, Narayanganj, Bangladesh, a minor boy misbehaved with two female students. The video of this incident is now being shared with the false claim that it is from India.

What is going viral?

X user ‘Jaspinder Kaur Udhoke’ shared the viral video on August 10, 2026 and wrote, “This is now the ‘new normal’ for Hindutva extremists in BJP-ruled India.”

Facebook user ‘Mohammad Irfan’ shared the viral video on August 10, 2026, and wrote in the caption, “The extent to which these people’s mentality has deteriorated is evident from their actions. Such scoundrels should face the strictest legal action, but I request the police administration to take legal action against them so that their minds become open in the future.”

Investigation

To verify the authenticity of the viral video, we extracted several key frames for Google reverse image search. We found a report on the Bangladeshi website ‘rtvonline’ that corroborated the details in the viral video. This report was published in Bengali on August 7, 2026. According to the report, the video depicts the mistreatment of female students at a school in Sonargaon, Narayanganj, Bangladesh.

Based on the received information, we conducted a Google search using relevant keywords. We found another news report related to the viral video, published in Bengali on August 7, 2026, on the Bangladeshi website ‘bdnews24’. The report states that the incident occurred about a month ago on a path along the Shitalakshya River near Kanchpur Bridge in Sonargaon sub-district. The boy seen kicking the schoolgirl in the viral video is 11 years old. Both the victims go to Kanchpur Umar Ali High School. One is in the seventh grade, while the other is in the fourth grade.

The report also states that after the video went viral, claims emerged that the school had issued a Transfer Certificate (TC) to the victim. However, when the District Education Officer (Acting) Atiqur Rahman visited the school, he dismissed the reports that the student had been issued a TC and met with all the students. Atiqur Rahman told reporters, “The TC (transfer certificate) issue was spread as a rumor. Actually, letters were sent to parents after the video went viral. I have read both the letters, and they were mistaken for TCs. Furthermore, the letters also contained a warning against going out in school uniform.”

In a Bengali report published on the Bangladeshi website ‘Jagonews24’ on August 8, 2026, a video of the accused in the incident surfaced, showing the teenager doing sit-ups while holding his ears as part of a local settlement. The boy can also be heard saying, “I kicked a girl, and the video went viral. I apologize for that. I won’t repeat this mistake again, and I am leaving Kanchpur.”

For more information, we contacted Bangladeshi fact-checker Tausif Mehtab on WhatsApp. He confirmed that the viral video is of an incident that had happened in Bangladesh.

What is the context?

Videos of such incidents in Bangladesh are often circulated in India with false communal claims in an attempt to spread hatred. Vishvas News has previously investigated such viral claims and exposed the truth. These fact-check reports can be read here and here.

Finally, we scanned the account of the X user who shared the video with the false claim. We found that the user is from Punjab as per the profile. The user has been active on X since August 2026.

Conclusion: Vishvas News investigated and found that the viral video of schoolgirls being misbehaved is not from India but from Bangladesh. It is being shared with a communal claim criticising the BJP government. A minor boy allegedly abused schoolgirls in Kanchpur, Bangladesh. The video of this incident is now being falsely shared as having taken place in India.
