Fact Check: Viral Video Of Quran Surviving Fire Not Linked To Ahmedabad Plane Crash
Vishvas News investigated the viral claim and found that the viral video of the Quran surviving a fire is not related to the Ahmedabad plane crash. This video has been available on the internet since March 2025, while the Ahmedabad plane crash happened on June 12, 2025.

New Delhi (Vishvas News). Following the tragic Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, a video has gone viral on social media claiming that while the plane was completely engulfed in fire, a copy of the Quran miraculously remained almost untouched.
Vishvas News investigated the viral post and found the claim to be fake. The viral video is not related to the Ahmedabad plane crash. This video has been available on the internet since March 2025, much before the June 12, 2025, incident.
What is going viral?
Instagram user kadir.maz shared the viral post on June 13, 2025, and claimed that this video is of the Ahmedabad crash.

Investigation
Starting the investigation, we first searched through keywords. We did not find any credible news reports of the Quran being found safe in the debris of the Air India plane that crashed in Ahmedabad. However, we did find many reports of a Bhagavad Gita being found safe in the debris after this incident.
After this, we analysed the video carefully. The clip appears to be from a fire-damaged room, not an aircraft.
After this, we did a Google reverse image search of the key frames of the video. We found this video uploaded on the Facebook page of Iraqi media portal Kirkuk Official News on March 8, 2025. However, no information was given about the location of this video.
We also found the same video uploaded on a Thai Facebook page on 14 May 2025. Here too, no information was given about the location of this video.
We also found this video uploaded on some other YouTube channels before the Ahmedabad plane crash.
For confirmation, we contacted Dainik Jagran, Gujarat’s senior correspondent, Shatrughan Sharma, as he has been covering the Ahmedabad crash. He confirmed that this video is not of the Air India flight that crashed in Ahmedabad. He said that it was a passenger flight, while the viral video seems to be of a house.
While Vishvas News cannot independently verify the origin of the viral video, it is clear that this video has been present on the internet since before the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad on June 12.
Finally, we scanned the account of the user who shared the video with false information. Instagram user kadir.maz has more than 9000 followers.
Conclusion: Vishvas News investigated the viral claim and found that the viral video of the Quran surviving a fire is not related to the Ahmedabad plane crash. This video has been available on the internet since March 2025, while the Ahmedabad plane crash happened on June 12, 2025.
