Fact Check: Man Criticising Opposition In Viral Video Is Not Sudhanshu Trivedi’s Son

New Delhi (Vishvas News). A video showing a man strongly criticising the opposition is going viral on social media with the claim that he is the son of BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi.
Vishvas News investigated the viral claim and found it to be wrong. The man seen in the video is Rajendra Kumar from Amritsar, and he has no relation to the BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi.
What is going viral
Facebook page ‘Support Ashwini Upadhyay‘ posted this video on July 2, 2025, and wrote, “This is Sudhanshu Trivedi’s son. If eight or ten more people like him speak up, then Congress will be finished. If you are a Sanatani, send this video to at least 10 people to awaken Hindus. It is very important that Congress is wiped out. Very influential! For the bright future of Sanatan Dharma, the conscience of Hindus will have to be awakened!”
Investigation
We started our investigation by analysing the viral video and noticed a watermark “Shining India.” Based on this clue, we conducted a keyword search and found a YouTube channel by this name, where the original video was uploaded on April 22, 2024, during the Lok Sabha elections.
We found another video featuring the same person on the same channel, uploaded on April 22, 2024.
However, this person’s name was not mentioned in either of the videos. We contacted Anurag Mishra, a former journalist at Shining India, who confirmed that the person seen in the video was interviewed by a journalist, Jitendra, during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Anurag further informed us that the person’s name is Rajendra, and he also shared his contact details.
When we reached out to Rajendra Kumar, he confirmed, “Yes, I am the person in the video. My name is Rajendra Kumar, and I live in Amritsar. I work in immigration services. The video was recorded in April 2024 during an interview with Shining India. I want to clarify that the viral claim is false. I have no connection with Sudhanshu Trivedi.”
After searching with relevant keywords, we found the family details of Sudhanshu Trivedi in the biography section Indian Parliament’s website. It was mentioned that Trivedi got married in 2009 and he has 2 children, a son and a daughter. Although not much information is available about his family, it is clear that his children are still young.
At the end of the investigation, we scanned the Facebook group ‘Support Ashwini Upadhyay’ that shared the viral claim and found that the user has over 15000 followers.
Conclusion: Vishvas News, in its investigation, found that the viral claim is false. The man seen in the video is Rajendra Kumar from Amritsar, and he has no relation to the BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi. The claim that he is Trivedi’s son is baseless.
