Investigation
To verify the viral claim, we extracted several key frames from the video and searched them using Google Lens. We came across the viral video on several social media accounts, with several users claiming it originated from Tamil Nadu in September 2024. One such post dated September 25, 2024, read, “It is being reported that some eunuchs stopped a passerby near Panagudi on the national highway from the Kavalkinaru area of Nellai district to Nagercoil and demanded money. The Panagudi police patrolling that route chased them away. This led to an argument between the eunuchs and the police. After some time, more than 40 eunuchs and transgenders gathered at the Panagudi police station and started a ruckus by throwing stones and breaking pots. After this, the police tried to chase them away. Then a eunuch started taking off her clothes. Angered by this, the police lathi-charged them and chased them away. This created a ruckus at the Panagudi police station.”

Using these clues, we conducted a keyword search and came across several news reports published in September 2024 covering this incident in Panagudi.
For further verification, we spoke to Prabhakaran Tamilarasu, a reporter who covered this incident for The Federal. He confirmed that the video is from Tirunelveli and dates back to September 2024.
Lastly, we scanned the Facebook account of the user who shared the video with the false claim and found that the user has over 6000 followers.
Conclusion: Vishvas News, in its investigation, found that the viral claim is false. The video is not from Bihar, but from Panagudi in Tamil Nadu’s Tirunelveli district, where a clash broke out between the police and eunuchs during a protest outside a police station.
