Fact Check: This Video Of An Elephant Rescuing A Baby Is AI-Generated

New Delhi (Vishvas News): A video showing an elephant rescuing a child is going viral on social media. In the video, a group of people can be seen visiting the zoo when a child accidentally falls into the elephant’s enclosure. The elephant then approaches and, using its trunk, lifts the child back to their family. The video is being shared, claiming it to be a real incident.

Vishvas News, in its investigation, found the viral claim to be fake. The video is not real but rather synthetic, created using AI tools.

What is going viral?

Facebook user ‘News24 Delhi‘ shared the viral video on August 8, 2025, with the caption, “Child fell in elephant’s enclosure, Gajaraj became an angel, picked up the innocent child with his trunk and handed him over to the family, the video touched people’s hearts |dilli24|”

Investigation

To verify the authenticity of the viral claim, we closely analysed the video and found that while the elephant was helping the child, the child’s body shape and the elephant’s leg kept changing unnaturally. This raised the suspicion that the video was created using AI.

We then analysed the video using AI detection tools, including Hive moderation, which indicated a93% probability of the video being AI-generated.

This analysis indicates that the viral video is not real but AI-created. To validate further, we contacted our partner Deepfake Analysis Unit (DAU), an initiative of our partner MCA. The DAU team analysed the video using other tools, which also confirmed the possibility of it being AI-generated.

Using the InVid tool, we extracted several key frames from the video and ran them through Google Reverse Image Search. This led us to the same video on a YouTube channel named @Funfact1min, uploaded on July 18, 2025. In response to a viewer’s comment, the channel’s admin confirmed that the video was created using AI.

Continuing our investigation, we examined the @Funfact1min YouTube channel and found numerous similar AI-generated videos.

For further clarification, we contacted AI expert Azahar Machawe, who noted that several scenes in the video indicate AI creation. In the final sequence, when the elephant is holding the boy, the shape of its feet changes unnaturally. The child’s face and body also distort, and at one point, it even appears as though the child is being drawn into the elephant’s mouth.

Finally, we scanned the account of the user who shared the video with the false claim and found that the user has 1.4 million followers.

Conclusion: Vishvas News, in its investigation, found that the video of the elephant saving the child is fake. It is not real but synthetic, created using AI tools.
