Fact Check: Video Of Monkeys Eating In A ‘Disciplined’ Manner Is AI-Generated

New Delhi (Vishvas News). The festival of Janmashtami was celebrated with great enthusiasm nationwide on August 16. Meanwhile, a video showing monkeys eating with human-like discipline is going viral with claims that this clip is from Varanasi during the Janmashtami festival.
Vishvas News, in its investigation, found that the viral video is not real, but AI-generated.
What is in the viral post?
Facebook user Hello Sabalgarh shared the viral video on August 18, 2025, showing monkeys eating in a human-like disciplined manner in the presence of policemen, with the caption, “Very beautiful view from Varanasi Ghat, scene of monkey army eating food on Janmashtami, eating with great discipline, was attracting people to the ghat.”

Investigation
To verify the viral claim, we carefully analysed the viral video and noticed several irregularities. For example, the policeman’s movements appeared unnaturally robotic, and the food on the plates remained untouched despite the monkeys seemingly eating it. These irregularities raised suspicions that the video was AI-generated.
To confirm, we uploaded the viral video through Hive Moderation, a tool for detecting AI-generated content. The result indicated a 99% probability of the video being AI-generated.
Another AI detection tool, Cantilux, also indicated an 80% probability of the clip being AI-generated.
We contacted AI expert Azhar Machwe regarding the video, and he confirmed that it was AI-generated.
Next, we scanned the page Hello Sabalgarh that shared the clip with the false claim and found that the page has over 7500 followers.
Conclusion: Vishvas News, in its investigation, found that the video featuring monkeys eating in a disciplined manner is not real but AI-generated.
