Fact Check: Viral Video Claiming Tiger Attack In Chandrapur Is AI-Generated And Misleading

New Delhi (Vishvas News). A video is going viral on social media, showing a tiger attacking a man sitting outside a house. The video is being shared with the claim that the incident took place at the Brahmapuri Forest Rest House in Chandrapur, Maharashtra.
Vishvas News investigated and found that this video was created using Artificial Intelligence (AI).
What is viral?
Facebook user ‘Khabarwani’ shared the viral video (archived link) on November 5, 2025, with the caption, “Video from Brahmapuri Forest Rest House, Chandrapur, Maharashtra.”
Investigation
To verify the authenticity of the post, we began by carefully analysing the video. Several inconsistencies were noticeable, such as the man’s hands disappearing as he ran. Furthermore, when the tiger attacks and drags him, his body appears to float rather than being dragged along the ground. These anomalies strongly suggested the video was AI-generated.
AI detection tool Hive Moderation showed a 97% probability that the video was AI-generated.
Another tool, SightEngine, estimated a 99% probability of the video being AI-generated.
For confirmation, we also spoke with Azhar Machwe, an AI and emerging technologies researcher, who confirmed that the video was created with AI assistance.
During our investigation, we came across an X post by IFS officer Anupam Sharma (@AnupamSharmaIFS) dated November 7, 2025, where he confirmed that the video was AI-generated. The post also included a press note issued by the Chandrapur Forest Department, quoting Chief Conservator of Forests RM Ramanujam, who clarified that no such tiger attack had occurred in the Brahmapuri forest area.
Using relevant keywords, we found several news reports related to tiger attacks in Chandrapur. According to a Navbharat Times report dated November 7, 2025, “A farmer was killed in a tiger attack in Chandrapur. The incident occurred near Shankarpur village. Villagers have accused the forest department of negligence. This is the third tiger-related death in Chimur taluka. This year, 38 people have lost their lives in wildlife attacks in Chandrapur district.”
Facebook user Khabarwani, who shared the viral video, has over 6000 followers.
Conclusion: Vishvas News, in its investigation, found that the viral video of a tiger attacking a man near Brahmapuri Forest Rest House in Chandrapur, Maharashtra, is AI-generated.
