Fact Check: Viral Salman Khan Video Is Old, Not From After Pradhan’s Resignation

New Delhi (Vishvas News). Dharmendra Pradhan resigned as Union Education Minister on July 25, 2026, following the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. TheCJP called off its protest after this. Now in this context, a video of Bollywood actor Salman Khan is being shared on social media, in which he can be heard saying, “Because this country and its people have great power.” Some users are sharing it as Salman’s reaction to Pradhan’s resignation.
Vishvas News investigated and found that the viral video is from October 2022, when Salman Khan congratulated actor Chiranjeevi for the film ‘Godfather’. Salman has not made any such statement after Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation. The viral claim is false.
What is the viral post?
Instagram user ‘snatani_9’ posted a video (archive link) on July 27, 2026. The caption reads, “Where were these people when the Pahalgam attack happened? Where were they during Pulwama? Will someone tell me, sycophant? Salman Khan’s big statement on Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation.
In the video, Salman is saying, “Because this country and its people have great power. Vande Mataram.”

Investigation
To verify the viral claim, we extracted key frames from the video and searched them using Google Lens. We found a longer version of the viral clip that was posted on October 5, 2022, from Salman’s Instagram account, ‘beingsalmankhan’. He can be heard congratulating actor Chiranjeevi for the success of his film ‘Godfather’ in the video. Salman says, “My dear Chiru Garu, I love you so much. I heard ‘Godfather’ is doing very well, congratulations and God bless you. Do you know why Chiru Garu? Because this country and its people have great power.”

The longer version of Salman Khan’s video made it clear that the viral clip is old.
He also posted about the CJP protest on July 22, 2026 and expressed grief over the violence that took place and offered condolences to the injured students. He also described paper leaks as a serious issue and praised the students for standing up against it.

On July 23, 2026, he shared another post, saying, “Students are our first priority in both education and safety, so they and their parents need not worry. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has tweeted, and I am sure he will take strict action against all those responsible for this paper leak. So, students, please return home to your parents. Sonam, enough is enough. Don’t take this any further. Save this spirit for another day, if needed (though, I don’t think you will need to) and have something to eat. If you want, I will send food from home.”

What is the context?
The 36-day-long ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ protest ended after the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper lead and many other paper leak controversies. During the movement, a ‘Parliament March‘ took place on July 20, 2026. Cases were filed in several states, including Delhi, in connection with the violent incidents that occurred during the march. The withdrawal of such cases have been announced in Bihar, Maharashtra, and West Bengal, while the Home Ministry has clarified that action will not be taken against those students with no criminal records. CJP founder Abhijit Dipke has stated that if action against students is not stopped, CJP will launch a large-scale protest soon.
We scanned the profile of the user who shared the video with the false claim. The account of this user, who appears to be influenced by a particular ideology, has been active since July 2025. It has more than 23,000 followers.
Conclusion: Salman Khan did not make any such statement after Dharmendra Pradhan resigned as Union Education Minister. The viral video clip is from October 2022, when Salman congratulated actor Chiranjeevi on the success of the film ‘Godfather’.
