Fact Check: Viral Image Of PM Modi Meeting Sonia Gandhi In Hospital Is AI-Generated
The viral image claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi met former Congress President Sonia Gandhi in the hospital is fake and AI-generated.

New Delhi (Vishvas News). Former Congress President Sonia Gandhi is hospitalised and under medical observation. In this context, a photo is going viral on social media claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited her. The viral image also features Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra alongside Sonia Gandhi.
Vishvas News investigated and found this claim to be fake and AI-generated with the ‘SynthID’ identification in all or part of it. SynthID is a watermarking tool for identifying AI-generated content created by Google’s AI models. The watermark is generally invisible, but the SynthID detector detects it.
What is viral?
Social media user (Archie Link) ‘Sampat Devi Pal’ shared the viral photo on March 30, 2026, with the caption, “Today Narendra Modi met his opposition party leader in the hospital.”
Several other users across different social media platforms have shared the image with a similar claim.
Investigation
During our investigation, we found several reports stating that Sonia was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi due to health issues.
According to news reports, ” Her health is improving, but she is still under medical observation.”
Several reports mention that Rahul was with Sonia when she was hospitalised. However, we found no reports of PM Modi visiting Sonia at the hospital.
This raises suspicions that the viral image may be AI-generated. To verify, we checked the image using Google’s ‘SynthID’ detector, which indicated a high probability that some or all of the image is AI-generated (Very High: SynthID confidence).
The blue colour in the detection analysis was AI-generated, indicating that the images of PM Modi, Sonia, and Rahul, with security personnel and doctors, were AI-generated.
At the same time, no manipulation is confirmed in the part highlighted in yellow colour.
For further confirmation, we checked it with another tool, Hive Moderation, which also indicated a 97.8% probability of AI-generated content, created using Gemini.
