New Delhi (Vishvas News). A shocking video showing a Mahindra Thar car stuck between the iron frame of an overhead signboard on a National Highway is going viral on social media. It is being shared, claiming that this is a real accident on the National Highway – 48.
Vishvas News investigated and found that this is not a real road accident and the video was created using Artificial Intelligence (AI).
What is going viral?
Twitter user Ramesh Meena shared this video on February 18, 2026, writing: “This video is going viral, showing a Thar vehicle crashing directly into a signboard…! It appears to be NH 48… Perhaps the Thar vehicle was headed towards Jaipur but ended up going straight into it…”
In the video, the Thar is seen tearing through a panel of a massive signboard, which is several feet above the ground.
Investigation
We searched for media reports using keywords about any such incident on NH 48. If a vehicle had crashed into a signboard on one of India’s busiest highways, it would have made news. However, we found no confirmation of any such incident from the police or administration.
Upon closer examination of the video, we noticed several inconsistencies. For example, the letters on the right side of the overhead signboard are of no use. AI often makes such mistakes when generating text. Furthermore, a heavy vehicle like Thar should have caused the entire structure to collapse if it collided with the board, but the board appears completely stable in the video.
To confirm this, we tested the video with AI detection tools.
Hive Moderation indicated a 99.9% probability of the video being AI-generated.

Another tool, Sightengine, estimated the likelihood of it being AI-generated at 89%.

AVSRDD (2025) from the DeepFake-o-meter tool developed by the University at Buffalo confirmed the video to be 99.9% AI-generated.

AI expert Azahar Machwe confirmed that this video is an example of ‘synthetic media’. He explained that video-generative AI was used to create it.
Auto innovator and MD of Shailsang Innovations Pvt Ltd, Shailendra Gaur, told us about this video, “The curb weight of a standard Mahindra Thar is approximately 1750 to 2100 kg, while a typical hatchback weighs 800-1000 kg. Propelling such a heavy vehicle to a height of approximately 5.5 m (18 ft) requires a significant amount of energy and initial velocity. Physically, reaching this height alone requires a vertical velocity of approximately 10 m/s, which is highly unlikely under normal road conditions without a ramp. Furthermore, the aluminium panels of overhead signboards on highways are not designed to bear the load. If a 2-ton vehicle were to hit them, the panel would most likely rupture or cause significant structural deformation. In such a situation, the vehicle remaining stuck without any visible damage appears structurally suspicious.”
