About: Devika Mehta is a seasoned media professional with 17+ years of experience across print, broadcast, and digital platforms in India and the US. She currently serves as Deputy Editor at Jagran New Media and works with Vishvas News as a fact-checker and media literacy trainer. She also conducts pioneering AI training programs in India and has trained over 10,000 journalists, students, professionals, security forces and senior citizens. A certified AI trainer with the ADiRA Network, she has also led initiatives with Meta’s fact-checkers, NCERT, and Indian Defence & Police. Selected among 40 global journalists for the Pulitzer Center’s Reporting on AI Intensive, she cascaded her learnings through Jagran’s in-house ‘SMARTOSAUR’ initiative. She is also the creator of the award-winning video series AI Literacy: Bridging the Gap, which has won WAN-IFRA 2025 and AFAQS 2024 media innovation awards.
Qualification: She holds a Masters in Broadcast Journalism from Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism, Bhopal, and is pursuing a Ph.D. in ‘Artificial Intelligence and Indian Journalism’ from Amity University, Noida.
