New Delhi (Vishvas News): Amid ongoing political activities related to the Bihar elections, a video clip of Rahul Gandhi is going viral across various social media platforms. In the viral video, he can allegedly be heard saying, “You have the skills, knowledge, everything of an orthopaedic surgeon, but you are not an orthopaedic surgeon!” Regarding this video clip, it is being claimed that Rahul has once again allegedly made an absurd statement.
Vishvas News, in its investigation, found this claim to be false. The viral clip is incomplete and has been taken out of context, spreading misinformation. Rahul’s related statement was regarding the allegation of caste-based discrimination in India. To illustrate his point, he used the example of a doctor, explaining that even a highly skilled and knowledgeable professional may still face ‘discrimination’ due to being from a ‘lower’ caste.

Social media user ‘High Talks VG’ shared the viral video with the caption, “Why do Congress people leave this open?

Many other users across different social media platforms have shared this video with the same claim.
Investigation
In the viral video, Rahul can be heard saying, “…You have the skills of an orthopaedic surgeon, you have the knowledge of an orthopaedic surgeon, you have everything that an orthopaedic surgeon needs, but you are not an orthopaedic surgeon!”
Based on this information, we found the video on a YouTube channel, which was uploaded three months ago. According to the information provided, this is a transcript of Rahul’s speech given at an event in Patna, the capital of Bihar.
In his speech, he accused caste-based discrimination in India, and said, “You have the skills of an orthopaedic surgeon, you have the knowledge and wisdom of an orthopaedic surgeon, you have everything that an orthopaedic surgeon needs, but you are not an orthopaedic surgeon!”
He further stated, “Why, because the entire system works against you. You think you are an orthopaedic surgeon, but you will never be allowed to run a hospital. If you can run it, you will not receive financing, you will not get money, you will not get a bank loan. And if you take a bank loan and you start a hospital, the bureaucracy will try to stop you. So in your mind, you think that you are an orthopaedic surgeon, but the real tools of an orthopaedic surgeon are not in your hands; they are working against you.”
Taking his point further, he stated, “In this country, if you are a Dalit, backwards class, tribal, minority, and I can also add a woman to it, EBC, extremely Dalit…if you are not from the upper caste, then you are a second-class citizen.”

We contacted Uttar Pradesh Congress spokesperson Abhimanyu Tyagi for clarification on the viral video. He stated, “Rahul Gandhi has always talked about social justice by raising the issue of caste discrimination in this country. This video is also related to the same, but his incomplete statement is being shared with the intention of propaganda.”
The Facebook user who shared the viral video with the misleading claim has around 30000 followers.
