New Delhi (Team Vishvas) An old video showing UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath laughing in front of a coffin wrapped in Indian flag is going viral with a wrong narrative.
A description of the video reads: “A condolence meet is a joke, a photo opportunity for these politicians, watch for yourself. Paying ‘deferential obeisance’ to the army.” The video shows UP CM Yogi Adityanath laughing and chatting with other people while a coffin wrapped in the Indian flag is lying in front of them
The old video being circulated in the aftermath of the Pulwama attack has been shared from many pages on various social media platforms. We took out some thumb images of this video from Invid and performed a simple Google Reverse Image search with key words “UP CM Yogi Adityanath laughing at Funeral”. We found many news stories on the front page itself.
The original video is from the funeral of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand’s ex chief minister ND Tiwari. Back then, the video was viral on social media.
Conclusion: In our investigation we found that this video was shot on Oct 21, 2018 at the funeral of ND Tiwari. And now it is going viral on social media once again in the wrong pretext of Pulwama tragedy. The claim is absolutely wrong.
