New Delhi (Vishvas News). Ahead of the Bihar assembly elections, politics has intensified. During Rahul Gandhi’s Voter Rights Yatra in Darbhanga, derogatory remarks were made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother. The police arrested the accused, Mohammad Rizvi. Soon after, a picture began circulating online, claiming that the accused was a BJP worker.
Vishvas News investigated the viral post and found it to be fake. The picture being shared is of Nek Mohammad Rizvi, a BJP worker from Madhya Pradesh, not the accused.
What is going viral
Facebook user ‘Shashi Bhushan’ posted a picture on August 29, 2025 and claimed, “Modi’s abusive disciple. He is the one who abused Modi in Bihar.”

Investigation
To verify the viral claim, Vishvas News first used the Google Lens tool to search the picture. This led us to a post on the X handle of JDU Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Kumar Jha.
In the post dated August 30, 2025, he stated that after the police arrested Rizvi alias Raja, a resident of Singhwara (Darbhanga), accused of abusing PM Modi, the opposition launched another propaganda attempt, circulating the picture of Nek Mohammad Rizvi, a BJP worker from Madhya Pradesh, falsely identifying him as the accused Mohammad Rizvi of Darbhanga.
Taking the investigation forward, we reviewed the social media handles of Nek Mohammad Rizvi, a BJP worker. In a post dated August 29, 2025, he clarified that rumours were being spread about him.
Nek Mohammad Rizvi’s Facebook page identifies him as a BJP worker from Madhya Pradesh. We also found a video where he states that the viral claim is false and clarifies that his photo is being falsely linked to the person who abused PM Modi’s mother in Darbhanga, Bihar.
Vishvas News further investigated the Xhandle of Darbhanga Police and found a press note dated.
It stated that on August 27, 2025, during the Vote Adhikar Yatra, a video of objectionable remarks against the PM went viral. In this case, Mohammad Rizvi alias Raja (20), son of Mohammad Anees, a resident of Bhapura Ward No 1 under Police Station Singhwara in Darbhanga, has been arrested, and further action is underway.
To verify further, Vishvas News contacted BJP Madhya Pradesh spokesperson Pankaj Chaturvedi, who confirmed that the viral claim is entirely baseless. He clarified that a false narrative is being spread by misidentifying a Madhya Pradesh resident as the accused from Bihar.
Lastly, we investigated the Facebook account of the user named Shashi Bhushan, who posted the misleading picture and found that the user identifies as a resident of Gopalganj and has over 6000 followers.
Conclusion: Vishvas News investigated the viral post and found it to be fake.
