New Delhi (Vishvas News): Amidst the ongoing tension between Israel and Iran, a video is viral on social media showing a group of people, holding Israeli flags, purportedly pleading with Iran to stop the war. Many users are sharing the video claiming that Israeli citizens are out on the roads, seeking peace with Iran.
Vishvas News investigated the viral clip and found that it was AI-generated.
What is in the viral post
Facebook user Fuzail Ahmad Ansari (archived link) shared the post on June 20, 2025. In the video, a crowd can be heard shouting slogans, “Stop the war, Iran, we are sorry, we want peace.” In the caption, he wrote “Stop the War, Iran, we are sorry, We Want Peace- Israeli People on Road.”
Investigation
We began our investigation by closely analysing the video. We noticed a few discrepancies. For instance, a flag mysteriously appears in one man’s hand, and the facial features of many in the crowd appear to be distorted. These discrepancies suggested that the video could be AI-made.
To check if the clip is AI-generated, we checked it using an AI-detection tool, Hive Moderation. The tool predicted over 96 percent probability that the video was AI-generated.
We also contacted our partner Deepfakes Analysis Unit (DAU), an initiative of the Misinformation Combat Alliance (MCA). Their experts and tools, including the Hive AI image+deepfake classifier, confirmed our findings. The classifier flagged “mochi” and “AI-generated” with high confidence scores of .96 to .98.
We also contacted Azahar Machwe, an expert in AI and emerging technology, to verify the authenticity of the video. He confirmed that the video was AI-made.
