Investigation

To verify the viral claim, we first searched for keywords on Google, but no such news report was found. We also searched for the photo via Google Lens, but no media report related to the viral claim appeared. This raised suspicion that the photo could be AI-generated.

We checked the image with the AI detection tool Hive Moderation. The tool indicated a more than 99% probability of the image being AI-generated.

We also used Google DeepMind’s SynthID tool. Searching the viral image here revealed that it was indeed created using AI.

The budget session of Parliament has formally begun with President Draupadi Murmu’s address. This session will be held from January 28 to April 2. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2026-27 on Sunday, February 1, 2026. Despite extensive media coverage of the Budget presentation on Feb 1 and the Economic Survey on Jan 29, 2026, no official news agency reported or photographed such a face-off between PM Modi and Rahul Gandhi.

For more information, we shared the viral post with Azhar Machwe, an expert working in AI technology. He told us that this picture was created using an AI tool.

Finally, we scanned the account of the user who shared the photo with the false claim. We found that the user has 15,000 followers. The user’s Facebook profile states that they are a resident of Delhi.

Conclusion: Vishvas News’ investigation revealed that the picture circulating with the claim of a face-to-face encounter between PM Modi and Rahul Gandhi during the budget session is not real, but was created using artificial intelligence.
