Investigation

Vishvas News first spotted the URL of the website used in the viral post. Seeing this, it is understood that this is a link to a fraud website, because at the end of it, dot XYZ was used instead of dot com or dot in. That’s why we didn’t click on this URL. To find out the truth, we directly contacted Jio.

Franko William, Vice President, Corporate Communication, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, told Vishvas News that such messages in the name of Jio keep getting viral. There is no truth in this. He asked people to ignore such messages. This is a completely fake message, he said.

Cyber experts have warned many times about such messages. Cyber expert Anuj Aggarwal told Vishvas News that cyber criminals are devising new ways to cheat. They lure people with offers and steal their personal data. We should not click on any suspicious link in a hurry like this. Our safety is in our hands.

If a company will give such offers, then it will definitely give information about it on its social media or website. We should go there and check. Do not give your information anywhere. This can lead to theft of your data. Report such posts.

At the end of the investigation, Facebook user ‘Deva Genius’ was investigated. This user posted the fake message in the name of Jio. 4.8 thousand people follow this user, who is a resident of Renukoot, UP. The account was created on December 2021.
