Fact Check: Krunal Pandya Has Not Acted In Pushpa 2 Movie, The Viral Picture Is Of a Telugu Actor

New Delhi (Vishvas News). The craze of the film ‘Pushpa 2’ has spread across the world. The film has made a record with its massive box office success. Amidst this, a social media post featuring a photo of Krunal Pandya is going viral on social media. The post claims that Krunal Pandya has acted in the ‘Pushpa 2’, and many users are sharing this claim believing it to be true.

Vishvas News investigated the viral claim and found it to be fake. The investigation revealed that the character of Bugga Reddy in the film is played by Telugu actor Tarak Ponnappa, not Krunal Pandya.

What is going viral?

Another user ‘HAPPY Target’ shared the post on December 17, 2024, and wrote, “How did you like Krunal Pandya’s cameo in ‘Pushpa 2’?”

Investigation

To investigate the viral claim, we conducted a Google search using relevant keywords. We found a news article on Dainik Jagran’s website, published on December 11, 2024. The report stated that the role of the villain ‘Bugga Reddy’ in  ‘Pushpa 2’ was played by actor Tarak Ponnappa. However, people are sharing it by claiming it to be of Krunal Pandya.

We came across several other news reports related to the viral claim, all of which confirmed that actor Tarak Ponnappa, not Krunal Pandya played the role in the movie ‘Pushpa 2’.

During our investigation, we found a post on Tarak Ponnappa’s Instagram account, shared on December 11, 2024. In the post, he shared a screenshot of Krunal Pandya’s post, clarifying that it was Tarak Ponnappa, not Krunal Pandya, who played the character of ‘Bugga Reddy’ in ‘Pushpa 2’.

We reached out to Mumbai-based senior entertainment journalist Parag Chaphekar, who confirmed that the viral claim is false. He clarified that Krunal Pandya is not in ‘Pushpa 2’. The image being attributed to Krunal Pandya is actually of actor Tarak Ponnappa.

Lastly, we scanned the profile of the user who shared the post. The user has around 15000 followers and identifies as a resident of Araria, Bihar.

Conclusion: It was claimed that cricketer Krunal Pandya acted in the film ‘Pushpa 2’. Vishvas News investigated and found that this claim is fake. This picture is not of Krunal Pandya but of Telugu actor Tarak Ponnappa.
