Fact Check: Viral Video of Two Planes Nearly Colliding is Actually a Gaming Clip

New Delhi (Vishvas News) A video showing two airplanes flying dangerously close to each other has been circulating widely on social media. In the clip, the planes appear to pass inches from one another, wobbling slightly but narrowly avoiding a collision. Many users are sharing the video, claiming it shows a real-life incident in Bhagalpur, Bihar.
However, Vishvas News found in its investigation that the claim is false. The video is actually a clip from a flight simulation video game, which has been shared with misleading claims.
What is going viral?
Instagram user ‘bhagalpurairport‘ shared the viral video and wrote in the caption, “Mid-Air Duel Over Sultanganj: Two Planes Battle for Landing at Bhagalpur International Airport .”

Investigation
To verify the authenticity of the viral claim, we searched the key frames of this video on Google Reverse Image. We found this video uploaded on a Facebook page named The best Helicopter on February 9. Along with it was written “Two Giant Aeroplane Almost Collided in Mid-air GTA 5” GTA 5 is simulation game.
According to the description of this page, this is a gaming video creator’s page. There are many such videos related to airplane simulation games on this page.
We reached out to the admin of the page and he confirmed that this video is a clip of GTA 5 game which was recorded on 9 February 2025.
Upon searching with relevant keywords, we found that in March 2024, the Bihar State Cabinet approved the construction of a larger airport in Bhagalpur. Recent reports indicate that this new airport will be located in Sultanganj.
Finally, we scanned the account of the Instagram user who shared the video with the false claim. We found that more than 16 thousand people follow the user ‘bhagalpurairport’.
Conclusion: Vishvas News found in its investigation that the claim about the viral video depicting a plane crash is false. The video is not from a real incident but is actually a clip from a video game.
