Fact Check: Viral Videos Of Crowded Railway Stations Not Related To Pakistanis Leaving India After Pahalgam Attack

New Delhi (Vishvas News). Amid escalating tensions following the Pahalgam terror attack, the Government of India has decided to suspend visa services to Pakistani nationals. Now, two viral videos are circulating on social media. The first depicts a massive crowd at a railway station, while the second shows people precariously perched on the roof of a train. It is being claimed that the visuals show Pakistanis leaving India following the government’s directive.
Vishvas News found in its investigation that this claim is fake. The viral videos have been present online since February 2025, while the government’s order came only after the Pahalgam attack on April 22, 2025.
What is going viral?
First claim
Thread user atrauli_ka_system shared the viral video of people sitting atop a train on April 26, 2025, with the caption, “Modi gave 48 hours. Right or wrong. People are going back to Pakistan from India.”

Second claim
Facebook user Jeetu Thakur shared the viral video of huge crowd entering a railway station on April 25, 2025, with the caption, “After the Pehlnaam incident, Modi government gave orders to leave within 48 hours. Pakistani Muslims fleeing from India.”

Investigation
First Claim
To verify this claim, we first did a reverse image search of the keyframes of the video using Google Lens. We found the clip on the X (formerly Twitter) handle ‘Libs Hate Us’, posted on April 10, 2025. Though the location wasn’t specified, the caption referenced the 1973 French novel The Camp of the Saints, a work of fiction about mass immigration.
This X video has a watermark of RRBD at the bottom. Upon searching, we found that this watermark belongs to a social media channel named rail_and_road_bangladesh. We found this video uploaded on the Instagram handle of this channel on 13 February 2025 with the caption indicating that it was shot in Dhaka, Bangladesh. A Bengali number plate visible on the train (Romanised as 2313) further confirms this.
We contacted the admin of RRBD’s Instagram page regarding this matter. In response, they said, “This video shows the Tongi Railway Station in Bangladesh. It was captured by a drone during the mass return of attendees after the final prayer of Biswa Ijtema.”
We then searched for Tongi Railway Station with the help of Google Maps. There were not many street view options available, but the structure seen in the 3D view matches the structure seen in the viral video.
Further search revealed that the second phase of Biswa Ijtema, an Islamic congregation, was held in Tongi from February 7–9 2025, with the first phase from January 31 to February 2, 2025.
Although we cannot independently confirm the location of this video, it is clear that the video has been present on the internet since February 13, 2025, while the central government’s order to send back Pakistanis came after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, 2025.
Second claim
To verify this claim, we first searched the key frames of the video on Google reverse image. We found this video uploaded on many social media handles in February 2025, with captions identifying it as footage from the Ijtema held in Mumbai.
On searching with keywords, we found many more videos of the Ijtema held in Mumbai in February 2025 which match the viral clip.
On searching with related keywords, we found many reports about the Ijtema held in Mumbai in February 2025. According to the news reports, Ijtema was organised in Kharghar, Mumbai on February 1, 2 and 2 where a huge crowd was seen.
Following the Cabinet Committee on Security’s decision after the Pahalgam terror attack, the Ministry of External Affairs issued an advisory on April 24, 2025, immediately suspending all visa services for Pakistani nationals, revoking existing visas by April 27th, and limiting medical visa validity to April 29th.
Thread user atrauli_ka_system, who shared the viral video with the false claim, is followed by more than 130 people.
Conclusion: Vishvas News found in its investigation that the viral claims are fake. Viral videos showing crowded railway stations and people on train roofs are falsely claimed to depict Pakistanis leaving India after the Pahalgam attack and subsequent visa suspension.
