New Delhi (Vishvas News): After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India launched targeted strikes on terrorist sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) under ‘Operation Sindoor’. Amid this, a video of a Pakistani TV anchor getting emotional has gone viral on social media, with claims that it shows her reaction to India’s military action.
Vishvas News’ investigation revealed that the viral video is unrelated to ‘Operation Sindoor’. The clip features Pakistani TV anchor Farwa Waheed and is related to the situation in Gaza.

X handle ‘Megh Updates‘ shared a viral post on May 7, 2025 with the caption, “The Pakistani anchor on Indian strike”.
Investigate
To begin our investigation, we conducted a Google Lens search of the viral video. This led us to an X post where this video was shared on April 18, 2025. The clip featured the logos of ‘Express News’ and the hashtag #Siyasat.
Using a VPN, we searched the Express News YouTube channel and found the full video uploaded earlier, on April 15, 2025. The video identifies the anchor as Farwa Waheed, who became emotional while reporting on the crises in Gaza.
During our investigation, we found this video shared on November 7, 2023, on Farwa Waheed’s official Facebook page with the caption, “I couldn’t control my tears and emotions .. i know we can’t do anything for the people of palestine (Gaza) Thousand of people have lost their lives, many are struggling to survive and that hurts a lot .. may this brutality end soon.”
To verify the authenticity of the viral clip, we contacted Farwa Waheed. She confirmed that the video dates back to 2023 and is related to the Gaza conflict. She clarified that it has no connection to the current situation.
Following the Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian Army launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ targeting nine terrorist camps in PoK and Pakistan on the night of May 6 and 7. Among the targets was a Lashkar-e-Taiba training centre, believed to have been used to train the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack. India described it as a necessary countermeasure to dismantle the terrorist infrastructure and deliver justice to the victims.
