New Delhi (Vishvas News). Amidst the growing controversy around the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in Diljit Dosanjh’s film ‘Sardar Ji 3’, a video is going viral on social media. In the viral clip, Diljit can be heard saying that he does not care whether he will get work in Bollywood or not, and he has no interest in working in Bollywood. Social media users are sharing this video, claiming it is his response to the recent Sardar Ji 3 controversy.
Vishvas News found in its investigation that this claim is false. This video of Diljit is from an interview in 2021.
What is going viral?
Facebook user Troll Indian Politics shared the viral video on June 26, 2025, with the caption, “Bollywood associations have reportedly threatened to impose a ban on Diljit Dosanjh. In response, Diljit said he doesn’t care about Bollywood. No interest in working in Bollywood — making it clear he’s unfazed by the industry’s pressure and will do what he feels right.”

Investigation
To verify the viral video, we searched the screenshots of the video on Google Reverse Image. We found this video uploaded on a YouTube channel named Film Companion Studio on September 20, 2021. In the video, the viral portion appears both in the teaser at the beginning and around the 25-minute mark of the full interview. In the video, Diljit is responding to a question about his casual attitude while shooting films, not reacting to any controversy.
Upon searching with keywords, we found a news report about his interview published on Filmfare’s website on September 20, 2021.
For more information on this subject, we also contacted journalist Smita Srivastava, who covers the entertainment beat for Dainik Jagran. She told us that this clip is from an interview of Diljit with Anupama Chopra in 2021.
What is the ‘Sardar Ji 3’ controversy?
The ‘Sardar Ji 3’ controversy is about the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir alongside Diljit Dosanjh, sparking major backlash in India. In a recent interview with the BBC, Diljit clarified that the film was shot in February 2025, a time when the cross-border atmosphere was relatively stable.
Finally, we scanned the account of the Facebook page Troll Indian Politics, which shared the video with a false claim. We found that the page is followed by about 3 lakh users.
