New Delhi (Vishvas News). A video circulating on social media claims that Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari is promoting a government-backed financial platform, promising earnings of over ₹2.5 lakh per week with a minimum investment of ₹21000. The video also urges viewers to register quickly due to ‘limited seats’.

Vishvas News, in its investigation, found that the video is a deepfake and was created using the visuals of his original video recorded in June 2025.

What is viral?

A user sent this video to Vishvas News’ tipline number +91 9599299372 and requested to verify its authenticity. In the video, journalist Rajdeep Sardesai and Gadkari are in conversation. It carries the logo of Times Now, and the conversation unfolds as follows:

Rajdeep Sardesai: “Tens of thousands of Indians above the age of 40 are quitting their jobs and taking early retirement. What’s the reason? A new financial platform launched by the government, we will reveal all the details in our report.”

Nitin Gadkari: “And honestly, today could be your lucky day. I don’t know how many people will manage to catch this broadcast, but only those watching right now will get access to this opportunity. And, uh, you need to understand something important. We can’t open this platform to the entire country because the results are so impressive that it would disrupt the system’s balance. Let me get straight to the point. With a minimal investment of just 21,000 rupees, you can earn over 2.5 lakh rupees per week. It sounds unbelievable, but it’s true. It’s like an advance on your pension or even a salary raise that multiplies your savings. Listen carefully. This video might only be available once. If you close the page, the access will disappear. The link is unique and cannot be restored. This is not Forex, shady cryptocurrencies or pyramid schemes. We’re talking about real investments in an established company that has implemented this automated trading technology. Thanks to a direct partnership with our team, the system runs on proprietary software accessible from any computer or phone, and outperforms any known platforms in profitability. Its artificial intelligence analyses the market in real time and predicts trends with high accuracy. The algorithm does all the work for you. Your only task is to monitor them.”

Rajdeep Sardesai: “How many people have already joined? What are the results?”

Nitin Gadkari: “We tested it with a small group of volunteers. Everyone earned over 250,000 rupees in the first week. And here’s something else. If you don’t make at least 150,000 rupees this week, I’ll personally refund your investment out of my pocket. So far, no one has failed. No special knowledge is required. If you are watching this video, your device is already compatible. Sounds convincing, doesn’t it? “

Rajdeep Sardesai: “What should viewers do? “

Nitin Gadkari: “Just, uh, visit the website and complete the registration. A personal consultant will contact you, answer your questions and activate your access. Once you confirm your participation, your spot is secured. If you don’t respond in time, your quota will go to someone else. From this moment, your life could change forever. This is a step up to a new level. And honestly, you won’t regret it.”

Investigation

On closely examining the video, we observed several inconsistencies in Gadkari’s voice. It sounds robotic in parts and doesn’t sync naturally with his lip movements, a common sign of deepfake manipulation. This video also seems to be a patchwork of different clips, which explains its jerky flow.

A keyword search did not yield any official finance platform promising such high returns.

Using Google Lens, we found the original video on AIM TV’s YouTube channel, uploaded on June 16, 2025, when journalist Bhupendra Choubey interviewed Gadkari.

The visuals fully match the viral video, but the interview was in Hindi, unlike the English version circulating online. Moreover, the original interview had no mention of any financial platform.

To verify possible AI manipulation, we analysed the viral video clip using multiple AI detection tools.

Cantilux: 80% probability of being AI-generated

Buffalo University Deepfake-O-Meter showed the following findings:

AVSRDD (2025): 99.9% probability of being AI-generated.

AltFreezing (2023): 87.6% probability of being AI-generated.

FTCN (2021): 97.8% probability of being AI-generated.

LIPINC (2024): 99.8% probability of being AI-generated.

We contacted Deepfakes Analysis Unit (DAU) (an initiative of our partner MCA) regarding the viral video. The DAU team analysed it using the Hive AI Deepfake Detector tool, which flagged multiple instances of AI tampering on Nitin Gadkari’s face.

Additionally, AI expert Azhar Machwe reviewed the clip and confirmed that it contained several flaws, concluding that the video was AI-generated.

We contacted cybersecurity expert and former IT consultant of the Public Grievances Committee of the Rajasthan Government, Ayush Bhardwaj, for confirmation. He stated, “Many scammers mislead people by creating such AI-generated videos for cheating. After luring people through the video, they convince them to invest in calls and extort money from them. Once the money is received, these scammers disappear, and people’s hard-earned money is completely lost.”

Conclusion: Our investigation revealed this claim to be completely false. The viral video showing Nitin Gadkari endorsing a government finance platform is a deepfake created using AI. In the original interview, Gadkari made no such statement, and no government-backed platform of such kind exists. The video is designed to scam people financially.
