Fact Check: Old Scuba Diving Video Falsely Circulating As Late Singer Zubeen Garg’s ‘Last Video
Vishvas News’ investigation revealed that the viral claim is fake. This viral scuba diving video is old and has no connection to Zubeen Garg or his death.

New Delhi (Vishvas News). The last rites of renowned singer Zubeen Garg were performed with state honours in Guwahati on September 23, 2025. He had travelled to Singapore for an event with his colleagues and passed away there on September 19, 2025.
In connection with this, a video is going viral on social media showing two people scuba diving. The clip depicts them swimming underwater with diving suits and oxygen cylinders, with one person appearing to guide and pull the other in a certain direction. The video is being linked to Zubeen’s death and labelled as his last video.
Vishvas News investigated the viral claim and found it to be fake. This video is old and has no relation to Zubeen’s death.

A Facebook user shared the viral post, writing, “Om Shanti Zubeen Garg. The legend’s last video. I am very ashamed to share this video of you.”

Investigation
To investigate the viral claim, Vishvas News first extracted several keyframes from the video and conducted a Google Lens search. This led us to a video uploaded on a YouTube channel named ‘Flash Tube’ on July 31, 2024.
The video was also found on a Facebook page on August 16, 2024.
Further searches, using a timeline tool, revealed the clip on an Instagram account named ‘Stop the Sun’, uploaded on May 14, 2024. According to the post, the diver reached a depth of 78 meters and ascended slowly, briefly losing consciousness. The post clarified that this was a training dive, intentionally practised without fins (diving gear worn on the feet), and was completely safe.
It is important to note that Zubeen passed away in Singapore on September 19, 2025, following which an FIR was also registered against several people. He had travelled to Singapore for an event. Zubeen was cremated with full state honours in Guwahati on September 23, 2025.
To verify details about the viral video, we contacted the Instagram account ‘Stop the Sun’. Marat Tukhvatullin confirmed, “In this video, he is there as a trainer, and it has no connection to anyone’s death.”
Lastly, we scanned the Instagram handle of user Dilip Sharma, who shared the fake post and found that the user has 413 followers.
