Fact Check: Viral Photo Of Virat Kohli Signing On A Pakistani Flag Is Fake

New Delhi (Vishvas News). The ODI series between India and Australia is set to begin on October 19th. Virat Kohli has also arrived in Australia for the ODI series. Meanwhile, a photo of Kohli is going viral on social media, where he can be seen signing an autograph on a Pakistani jersey for a fan. The claim is that Virat Kohli is signing an autograph on a Pakistani flag.
Vishvas News’ investigation revealed that the viral image was created using an AI tool. In the original photo and video footage, the cricket star was actually signing an RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore) jersey for a fan in Australia.

Facebook user ‘Manoj Kumar’ shared the viral photo on October 16, 2025, captioning it, “Virat Kohli autographs Pakistan flag #indiavaustrelia #fblifestyle #TeamIndia.”

Investigation
To investigate the viral claim, we first used Google reverse image search. We found the news related to the photo on the website cricketcountry.com. A news story published on October 17, 2025, stated, “Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma signed autographs for a Pakistani fan in Perth. Kohli signed RCB and Team India jerseys, and Rohit Sharma also signed autographs.”
We also found the photo on Dainik Jagran’s website. The story, published on October 17, 2025, stated, “Virat Kohli has arrived in Australia for the ODI series. He has also begun practicing there. As usual, his fans are present. Kohli signed autographs for the fans.” It shows Virat Kohli signing the RCB jersey.
We also found the video on the verified account of RevSportz Global. The video, shared on October 16, 2025, clearly shows Virat Kohli signing the RCB jersey.
We contacted Dainik Jagran’s Sports Editor, Abhishek Tripathi, regarding the photo. He confirmed that it was fake.
Continuing our investigation, we searched the photo using an AI detection tool. First, we used the Hive moderation tool and searched the photo. This tool showed a 99.7 percent chance that the photo was created with the help of AI.

We also searched the photo using another tool, Sight Engine, which also showed a 99 percent chance that the photo was created with the help of AI.

Finally, we scanned the account of the user who shared the photo with the false claim. We found that the user is followed by 554,000 people.
Conclusion: Vishvas News’ investigation revealed that the viral photo of Virat Kohli signing an autograph was created with the help of an AI tool. In the original photo, Virat Kohli was signing an RCB jersey for a fan. People are sharing the photo with the false claim, believing it to be real.
