Fact Check: AI-Generated Image Claiming To Show KB Hedgewar And BR Ambedkar Riding A Motorcycle Goes Viral

New Delhi (Vishvas News). An image is going viral on social media showing KB Hedgewar, the founder of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), riding a motorcycle with Dr BR Ambedkar as the pillion rider. Many users are sharing this image, assuming it to be authentic.
Vishvas News investigated and found the photo of Hedgewar and Dr Ambedkar, circulating on social media, to be AI-generated.

A user sent this photo to Vishvas News’ tipline number +91 9599299372, requesting us to check its authenticity.
Investigation
Vishvas News conducted a keyword search to verify the viral post. We discovered that Dr Hedgewar passed away on June 21, 1940, in Nagpur, while motorcycles became widely available in India only in the mid-1950s. The Bullet 350, first imported by Madras Motors in 1949, was subsequently inducted into the Indian Army, with official production starting in 1955.
We then searched through several government archive websites but did not find any such photo or record of Hedgewar and Dr. Ambedkar riding a motorcycle together.
Next, we examined the image closely and found several anomalies. The background appears blurry, and some people in the background have partial faces. The motorcycle’s registration number, reads ‘78787655’, is also suspicious, as early vehicle number plates used alphanumeric provincial codes, not long numeric sequences like this one. This raised doubts about the image being AI-generated.
To verify further, we analysed the image using Hive Moderation, a tool designed to detect AI-generated images. The result showed a 99% probability of the image being AI-generated.
Another tool, Was Is AI, also indicated the possibility of the image being AI-generated.
We contacted AI expert Azhar Machwe regarding the image, who confirmed the image was AI-generated.
Conclusion: Vishvas News investigation confirms that the viral image showing KB Hedgewar and BR Ambedkar riding a motorcycle together is AI-generated.
