Fact Check: Old Rajasthan Women’s Rally Video Falsely Linked To Nitish Kumar’s Hijab Issue
In November, women in Didwana, Rajasthan, staged a rally to protest against land allotment. Footage from that protest is now being misleadingly shared as a demonstration against Nitish Kumar over the hijab issue.

New Delhi (Vishvas News). Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was recently accused of removing a female doctor’s hijab at a public event, following which a related video is going viral on social media. The clip shows a group of Muslim women participating in a rally, with claims suggesting that Muslim women in Didwana, Rajasthan, staged a protest against Nitish over the hijab issue.
Vishvas News investigated and found this claim to be misleading; the video is not linked to the alleged hijab incident. In reality, on November 20, 2025, women in Didwana, Rajasthan, held a rally to protest against the declaration and allotment of custodian lands as government land. A video of that incident is being falsely claimed as the hijab case.
What is the viral post?
Instagram user taj_mohammed_9318_ posted a video featuring a picture of Nitish Kumar (archived link) on December 17, with the caption, “Farmers’ Mahapadav: A resounding protest by women power, a new wave in Didwana!”
The caption accompanying the video reads, “Nitish Kumar the galti man”.
Investigation
To verify the viral claim, we extracted a keyframe from the video and conducted a Google Lens search. Instagram user noor_discovery shared this video on November 25, 2025 with the caption, “Farmers’ Mahapadav: A resounding protest by women’s power, a new wave in Didwana!”
A video news related to this rally was uploaded on the Facebook page ‘Sach Bedhadak’ on November 21, 2025. According to the report, “Women in Didwana held a rally to protest the recent allotment orders issued by the government and the district administration. The agitation has been ongoing for some days over the custodianship dispute.”
A photo of the women’s rally was also published on NDTV Rajasthan’s website in a report dated November 20. According to the report, “A protest is underway in front of the Deedwana Collectorate in Rajasthan against the recent allotment of custodian lands and the declaration of government land as government land. Women have now joined the protest. The protest rally began at the Mahapadav site and reached the Collectorate.”
According to a news report published on Rajasthan Patrika’s website on December 17, “On December 15, a video of a program for Ayush doctors in Patna went viral. In it, Nitish Kumar is shown removing the hijab of a female doctor. The video has sparked controversy. Following the incident, the female doctor left Bihar and went to Kolkata to be with her family.”
This proves that the video of the women’s rally predates the hijab controversy.
We also contacted Rajasthan-based TV journalist Santosh Pandey, who clarified that the video has no connection to the hijab issue.
Lastly, we scanned the profile of the user who shared the old video with the false claim and found that the user has over 11000 followers
Conclusion: In November, women in Didwana, Rajasthan, staged a rally to protest against land allotment. Footage from that protest is now being misleadingly shared as a demonstration against Nitish Kumar over the hijab issue.
