Fact Check: AI Video Of A Man Making Biryani Using Dirty Water Goes Viral With A Communal Angle

New Delhi (Vishvas News). A video is rapidly going viral on social media, featuring a Muslim man scooping water from a drain and pouring it into a pot of biryani. Some users are now sharing the video, believing it to be real. Several other people are also seen in the video.
Vishvas News investigated and found the viral claim to be false. The viral video is not real, but AI-generated, and is now being shared with a false claim that it is a real incident.
What is in the viral post?
Facebook user Gurpreet Wadach (archived link) shared the viral video on December 29, 2025, writing, “Ah, look friends, this is how people care about cleanliness. Look how drain water is being poured into the food. Please comment and tell us what should be done with such people. #trendingpost #trendingreel #trendingshort #gurpreetwadach”
Many users on social media have shared this video with the same claim.
Investigation
Upon taking a closer look at the video, one of the man’s hands is blurred, and the people behind him appear to be standing still. This raises suspicions that the video was AI-generated.
To further our investigation, we examined the video using the AI detection tool Hive Moderation, which indicated a 99% probability of the video being AI-generated.
We then tested the video using another tool, aurigin.ai, which determined the video to be 98% AI-generated.
For more information, we contacted Azhar Machwe, a researcher working on AI and emerging technologies. He explained that a close look at the video reveals that one of the man’s hands is not moving at all and is blurred. Similarly, other people in the video are also standing in the same spot and not moving. This clearly indicates that the video is AI-generated. He also shared some screenshots that clearly demonstrate the AI-generated video.
Finally, we scanned the Facebook profile of the user who shared the video and found that the user had 16000 followers.
Conclusion: Vishvas News investigated and found that the viral video of a man making biryani using drain water is false. The viral video is not real but was created using AI.
