Fact Check: JP Nadda Was Not In PM Modi’s Car To Welcome Him, As Claimed In The Viral Video
Vishvas News investigated and found the viral post to be fake. An old video was used to spread the false claim that the Prime Minister brought JP Nadda along in his car to welcome him.

New Delhi (Vishvas News): A video featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going viral on social media. Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda can be seen welcoming the Prime Minister after he exits his car in the video. Some users on social media are sharing the video, claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi takes a minister with him in his car to welcome him.
Vishvas News investigated the viral post in detail and found it to be fake. The man seen getting out of the Prime Minister’s car is not Health Minister JP Nadda. The viral video is old. In fact, PM Modi and JP Nadda arrived at the BJP headquarters in separate vehicles on July 27, 2024. That day, a meeting of the Council of Chief Ministers was being held. The investigation revealed that in July 2024, JP Nadda was not even the union Health Minister, but the National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP ).
What is viral?
Facebook user ‘Niraj Yadav’ shared a video and claimed, “PM Modi is so addicted to getting himself welcomed that now he takes a minister with him to get himself honoured. Health Minister JP Nadda travels in the car along with Modiji and on the other side, after getting down from the car, comes in front and gives flowers to Modiji. This means that Modiji has made Nadda ji a cabinet minister so that there is no shortage in welcoming him….”
The content of the viral Facebook post is written here verbatim. The video was posted on July 29, 2026. Many users are sharing the claim, believing it to be true. An archived version of the post can be viewed here.
Investigation
Vishvas News first scanned the viral video. It bore the logo of the news agency ‘ANI’, so we first searched for the video on its official X handle.
We found a 55-second video uploaded on July 27, 2024, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi.
A longer version of the viral video was also found on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official YouTube channel. It was livestreamed on July 27, 2024. At the 16-second mark of the video, we saw a man wearing a ‘blue shirt’ getting out of the PM’s car. Earlier, this man was seen arranging files in the car next to PM Modi.
During our investigation, we also found a video on the official X handle of ‘IANS’. In this video, dated July 27, 2024, the man sitting next to PM Modi and JP Nadda can be seen together. It can be clearly seen in the video that the man sitting next to PM Modi leaves with files, and JP Nadda was already standing near the PM’s car to welcome him.
This video clearly shows that the person sitting in the car with PM Modi is not JP Nadda, as their shirt colors are different. Furthermore, their hairstyles also differ significantly.
Now we needed to know when JP Nadda arrived at the BJP headquarters. Searching with various keywords, we found a video posted on the official handle of the news agency ‘PTI’. This video, dated July 27, 2024, shows BJP President JP Nadda arriving at the party headquarters for the Council of Chief Ministers meeting. This makes it clear that JP Nadda reached the BJP headquarters in a different vehicle that day.
Vishvas News took the investigation forward and spoke to BJP national spokesperson Dr. Vijay Sonkar Shastri, who dismissed the viral post as fake.
What is the context?
When Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives at the BJP headquarters in Delhi, the party president and senior leaders welcome him. When JP Nadda was the BJP president, he used to welcome the PM. Now the current BJP president Nitin Naveen welcomes PM Modi. Nitin Naveen became the BJP’s national president on January 20, 2026. Prior to this, JP Nadda was the BJP president. He assumed this position on January 20, 2020.
At the end of the investigation, the profile of the user who posted the false post was examined. It was discovered that this user, named ‘Neeraj Yadav’ is associated with a political party. He is a resident of Prayagraj and is followed by over 2,000 people on Facebook.
Conclusion: Vishvas News investigated and found the viral post to be fake. An old video was used to spread the false claim that the Prime Minister brought JP Nadda along in his car to welcome him. The person seen in the video with PM Modi in his car is not JP Nadda.
