Fact Check: Viral Video Claiming A Train Fell Into A River In Bareilly Is AI-Generated

Vishvas News’ investigation revealed that the viral video of train coaches falling into the river in Bareilly is not real, but AI-created. The video is being shared with false claims that it is real.

New Delhi (Vishvas News). A video circulating widely on social media appears to show a train derailing on a bridge and three coaches plunging into a river. Users sharing the clip claim the incident occurred in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, where the train is said to have fallen into the Ramganga River.

Vishvas News investigated the claim and found it to be false. The video is not real; it was created using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and is being falsely shared as footage of an actual accident.

What is in the viral post?

Instagram user firstpostnow_official posted the video (archived link) on November 17, 2025, with the caption, “Heartbreaking accident in a rally. The moving train lost its balance and, within seconds, left the tracks, plunging into the Ramganga River. It’s a sight to behold.”

Investigation

To investigate the viral video, we searched for keywords related to the Bareilly train accident and found no news reports of the accident.

Furthermore, we extracted several keyframes from the video and searched them using Google Lens. This led us to an Instagram account named ‘anmolbohraa’, which shared the same video on November 16, 2025, with the caption, “The video is AI-generated.”

We checked Anmol Bohra’s account and found several other AI-generated videos.

We scanned the video using the AI ​​detection tool Hive Moderation, which estimated a 99.4% chance of it being AI-generated.

We searched the screenshot using decopy.ai, and the tool’s analysis indicates that this viral video was 100% created with AI.

We also searched the screenshot using another tool, SightEngine, which indicated a 79% likelihood that the video was AI-generated.

We also consulted AI expert Azhar Machwe, who confirmed the video is AI-generated. He pointed out unrealistic elements, such as bystanders not reacting to the supposed accident, and visual cues within the train and river, revealing that the footage is not genuine.

Finally, we scanned the user who shared the video and found that they have around 5000 followers.

Conclusion: Vishvas News’ investigation revealed that the viral video of train coaches falling into the river in Bareilly is not real, but AI-created. The video is being shared with false claims that it is real.
