Fact Check: Viral Claim Of Pakistani Flag Being Waved During PM Modi’s Hyderabad Visit Is False.

New Delhi (Vishvas News). Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public rally in Hyderabad on May 10, 2026. A video linking to his visit to Hyderabad is going viral on social media. In the video, a young man can be seen waving a green flag in the middle of the road. Some users are sharing the video, claiming that Pakistani flags were waved to protest against PM Modi’s visit to Hyderabad.

Vishvas News investigated and found the viral claim to be false, and the video shows Islamic flags, not Pakistani. However, we cannot confirm the timing of the viral video.

What is the viral post?

Instagram user ‘truthrevolutioninbharat’ posted the video (archive link) on May 11, 2026, with the caption, “Protest against PM Modi in Hyderabad with Pakistani flags and road blockade.”

The video description reads, “During PM Modi’s visit to Hyderabad today, some areas of the city witnessed massive commotion. According to reports, a group of protesters not only blocked roads and disrupted traffic, but also waved Pakistani flags during the protest. The incident has caused widespread anger among locals. Videos circulating on social media show protesters creating a ruckus on the PM’s convoy route and at major intersections. The police have tightened security to control the situation, but the blatant use of anti-national symbols is raising questions. Many are calling it a threat to the security and integrity of the country and demanding strict action and deportation of the culprits.”

Investigation

To verify the authenticity of the viral claim, we conducted a Google search using relevant keywords, but found no credible media report. If such an incident had occurred, it would have certainly been reported in the media.

We then carefully examined the video and found a young man and two children riding a bike holding a green flag. This is not the Pakistani flag, as Pakistan’s national flag features a crescent moon and a star along with a white stripe, whereas the flags in the viral video only feature a crescent and a star.

This makes it clear that the flags seen in the viral video are not Pakistani.

We also extracted keyframes from the video and searched them using Google Lens. X User ‘Tathvam-asi’ shared this video on May 11, 2026, claiming it was a protest against PM Modi’s visit; however, the user described the flags as Islamic.

The building in the video has the name ‘Hotel Charminar’ written on it. Based on this, we searched it on Google Maps and found its location to be Salarjung Museum Road, Hyderabad.

This confirms that the video is from Hyderabad, but we couldn’t find any information about the video’s date or year. Therefore, we cannot confirm that the video is from during PM Modi’s visit to Hyderabad.

For further verification, we contacted a Hyderabad-based journalist, Harsh, who confirmed that the Pakistani flag was not displayed during PM Modi’s visit. The viral video features an Islamic flag, and not the Pakistani flag. This video is from a bridge over the Musi River near the Salarjung Museum. Modi’s route included Begumpet Airport, Sindhu Hospital, and Secunderabad. The location in the viral video is not PM Modi’s route. Such processions are held in Hyderabad during Milad-un-Nabi.

What is the context?

PM Modi recently visited Hyderabad. According to a report published on the DD News website on May 10, 2026, the PM inaugurated several development projects and also addressed a public rally there.

Lastly, we scanned the Instagram profile of the user who shared the video with the false claim and found that the account was created in August 2024 and has over 10000 followers.

Conclusion: The claim that Pakistani flags were waved in protest during PM Modi’s recent Hyderabad visit is false. Islamic flags are also visible in the viral video; however, we cannot confirm the actual date of the viral video.
