Fact Check: Viral Video Of Plane On Fire Is Fake, No Crash Happened On July 10, 2025

New Delhi (Vishvas News). After the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, many false or unrelated videos went viral on social media that were debunked by Vishvas News. On July 10, another video went viral showing an aircraft on fire. Users shared this video with the claims of a plane crash.
Vishvas News investigated the viral post and found it to be fake. No plane crashed on July 10. Our investigation revealed that the viral video was digitally created using graphics.
What is going viral
An Instagram user named shyam_diwani4k posted a video on July 10 with the caption, “An airplane crashed in the district. It has just happened. 10/07/2025”

Investigation
Vishvas News first used the Google Open Search Tool to verify the viral claim.The goal was to determine whether any plane crashed on July 10. The search revealed that an Indian Air Force aircraft had crashed in Churu, Rajasthan, on July 9. However, the viral video has no connection with this accident.
Vishvas News shared the video with graphics expert Arun Kumar to verify its authenticity. After reviewing the video, he confirmed that the viral video appeared to be digitally created. He highlighted some inconsistencies, such as the fire flames being visible towards the front of the engine, whereas in reality, since the plane is moving forward, the flames would be towards the back.
Next, we contacted our partner Deepfakes Analysis Unit (DAU) and shared the viral video with them for verification. The DAU team analysed the video and said that the plane’s clip did not look realistic.
Lastly, we investigated the Instagram profile of the user who posted the fake post and found that the user has over 37000 followers, and this handle was created in July last year.
