Fact Check: Viral Missile Video Is Not Linked To Iran-Israel Conflict, Footage Is From Russia-Ukraine War

New Delhi (Vishvas News). Amid tension between Iran and Israel, a video showing two missiles flying over a water body is viral on social media. The clip is being shared with the claim that it shows a missile strike during the recent Iran-Israel conflict.
We investigated the viral video and found it to be misleading. The video dates back to July 2024 and is related to the Russia-Ukraine war.
What is viral?
Instagram user frontlinefeedss (archive link) shared the viral video on June 23, 2025, and wrote, “Dangerous missile during Iran-Israel war, no one would believe it if it was not captured on camera.”
Investigation
To investigate the viral video, we extracted some key frames from this video and reverse image searched them using Google Lens. We found this video uploaded on YouTube by Azerbaijan-based news portal Kanal 13, on July 10, 2024, with the caption “Moment when Russian rockets attacked Ukraine over Caspian Sea – image taken by fishermen.”
With the keywords, we found a news report published by BulgarianMilitary.com on July 11, 2024. The same video was embedded in the story. As per the report, the video was linked to Russian missile activity over the Caspian Sea during the Ukraine conflict.
For confirmation, we contacted Ukrainian fact-checker Ruslan Denichenkov. He confirmed that the video has been circulating since July 2024, and it was originally linked to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
User frontlinefeedss, who shared the viral video with a fake claim, is followed by more than 1800 people on Instagram.
Conclusion: Vishvas News investigated the viral claim and found it to be false. The viral video claiming to show a missile strike during the recent Iran-Israel conflict is misleading.
