Fact Check: Viral Video of Massive Blaze in Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh Wrongly Attributed to Jodhpur

New Delhi, Vishvas News. A video of a massive fire has gone viral on social media, with claims that it occurred in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The video, originally aired on India TV, features a breaking news banner identifying the location as Mandore, Jodhpur. The news anchor also refers to the incident as happening in Mandore, Jodhpur.

However, Vishvas News investigated the matter and found that the video is actually from Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh, not Jodhpur.

What is the viral post?

News channel India TV (Archive Link) shared this video of the fire on Facebook on March 27 and wrote in the caption: Translated: “Rajasthan: Massive fire in Mandore near Jodhpur, panic spread due to fire in pipeline.” In the video, the breaking plate says “Massive fire in Mandore near Jodhpur”. The news anchor seen in the video is also claiming this video to be from Mandore in Jodhpur Rajasthan.

Investigation

To investigate this claim, Vishvas News conducted a keyword search but found no reports of such a fire in Jodhpur.

Next, we carefully examined the video. At the 30-second mark, a fire engine appears on screen, with the words ‘Nagar Palika Parishad Mandsaur’ written on it. It’s important to note that Mandsaur is a district in the state of Madhya Pradesh.

After this, we searched with the help of keywords whether any such fire has broken out in Mandsaur, MP?  We found several reports confirming that on March 27, 2025, a massive fire broke out at a storage unit in Shakkarkhedi village, Mandsaur district. The storage unit contained pipes used in the government’s Jal Jeevan Mission.

Upon searching with keywords, we found a video uploaded on the Facebook page of Zee Madhya Pradesh Chhattisgarh on March 28, 2025. In this video, the same fire seen in the viral clip is shown, with the location confirmed as Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh.

We also found a video of the viral fire clip uploaded on the YouTube channel of news website IBC24 on March 28, 2025, where it was once again confirmed to be from Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh.

For confirmation, we reached out to Surendra Dubey, a reporter from Naidunia in Mandsaur. He confirmed that the video is from the fire that broke out on March 27 in the warehouse of Vensar Private Limited, located in Shakkarkhedi village, Mandsaur. MP.

The user India TV, who shared the video with the fake claim, has more than 19 lakh followers on Facebook.

Conclusion: Vishvas News found in its investigation that this claim is false. This fire incident is not from Mandore in Jodhpur but from Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh.
