New Delhi (Vishvas News). A video is going viral on social media featuring a large sinkhole forming after a road caves in. Some users are now sharing this video, claiming it to be from India. It is being alleged that this video is from Delhi, where this incident occurred due to underground metro construction.
Vishvas News, in its investigation, found that the viral claim is fake and the video has no connection to India. In reality, this incident dates back to September 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand, when this accident occurred on a busy road during the construction of an underground train station. The same video is now being shared, claiming it is from Delhi.

Facebook user Avinash Sharma shared the viral video with the caption: “The result of running metro underground in Delhi.”

Investigation
To investigate the viral video, we extracted several keyframes from the video and searched them using Google Lens. This led us to a related report on Dainik Jagran’s website on September 24, 2025, which used screenshots from the video. According to the information provided, this video is from Bangkok, Thailand, where a 50-meter-deep sinkhole opened up on a busy road during the construction of an underground train station, engulfing three cars and several electricity poles..
We also found a related report on the official YouTube channel of ‘The Sun’, uploaded on September 24, 2025. According to the information provided, “A sinkhole nearly 50 meters deep opened up in Bangkok, causing a section of a busy road to collapse. Electricity poles and some vehicles also fell into the hole.”
Information related to the video was also found in a news report by India TV, published on September 25, 2025, which stated, “A 4-lane road suddenly collapsed in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, creating a large crater on the road. Three cars were damaged in the incident, and nearby buildings were evacuated. It is being said that this accident happened due to the construction of an underground train station.”

To verify further, we contacted Uday Jagatap, a reporter from Dainik Jagran, Delhi, who confirmed that this video is not from Delhi and the viral claim is misleading.
Lastly, we scanned the profile of the Facebook user who shared the video and discovered that the user has 379 followers.
