Fact Check: Old Dipke Video Falsely Linked to Pradhan’s Exit

Vishvas News investigated and found that the viral video showing Abhijeet Dipke with folded hands before the police is not related to the events following Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation.. Dipke himself had shared the viral video on July 9, 2026, alleging that the police had prevented him from setting up a tent to shelter the hunger-striking students from the rain.

New Delhi (Vishvas News). The student movement led by the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP) ended after Dharmendra Pradhan resigned as Union Education Minister. Following this, a video of CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke is being widely shared on social media. Dipke can be seen kneeling and folding his hands before the police in this video. It is being claimed that Dipke resorted to folding his hands and pleading with the police after the Delhi Police Commissioner allegedly instructed officers to take action against rioters and anti-social elements.

Vishvas News investigated the viral claim and found it to be false. The viral video is not from after Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation. It was recorded before that. On July 9, 2026, Abhijeet Dipke shared a video stating that he wanted to set up tents so students could shelter from the rain. He was pleading with the police to obtain this permission.

What is going viral?

Facebook user ‘Digital Live Shivpuri’ shared a video on July 26, 2026, and wrote, “Even after Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned… cockroach Abhijeet Dipke refused to leave Jantar Mantar or stop the protest. As soon as news broke that the Police Commissioner had issued an order identifying rioters and anti-social elements… Orders have been given to take action against him and if necessary, take steps like cancelling his passport and keeping him in Tihar Jail for 12 months…The ‘cockroach leader’ who considered himself a big leader literally went down on his knees and started begging for mercy…”Leave me alone!”

Investigation

To verify the authenticity of the viral video, Vishvas News extracted several key frames and conducted a Google reverse image search. We found reports corroborating the claim on the websites of ABP News and Dainik Bhaskar, published on July 9, 2026. According to these reports, Abhijeet Dipke had approached the police to seek permission to set up tents to protect the hunger-striking students from the rain. He then began pleading with the police, alleging that they were not allowing him to set up the tents.

During our investigation, we also found the viral video on Abhijeet Dipke’s official X account. This video is actually withheld in India. We checked it using Express VPN and found that it was posted on July 9, 2026. According to the caption, Abhijeet Dipke alleged that the police were not allowing him to set up tents to shelter the hunger-striking students from the rain, causing them inconvenience. He even folded his hands before the police and even fell at their feet to obtain permission.

Vishvas News further investigated the viral claim and contacted ‘Dainik Jagran’ correspondent Nemish Hemant in New Delhi. He confirmed that the video was not recorded after the CJP protest ended, but was actually several days old.

What is the context?

The Cockroach Janata Party launched a protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on June 20, 2026, demanding action over the NEET paper leak. Youth from across the country joined this demonstration. Social activist Sonam Wangchuk observed a 26-day hunger strike in support of the students. As the protests grew and pressure mounted, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned on July 25, 2026. More details can be found in a BBC Hindi report published on July 25, 2026.

Finally, we scanned the Facebook account of the user who shared the video with the false claim. We found that the user has more than five thousand followers. The user identifies himself as a resident of Madhya Pradesh in his profile.

Conclusion: Vishvas News investigated and found that the viral video showing Abhijeet Dipke with folded hands before the police is not related to the events following Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation.. Dipke himself had shared the viral video on July 9, 2026, alleging that the police had prevented him from setting up a tent to shelter the hunger-striking students from the rain.
