Fact Check: Ajmer Temple Demolition Video Goes Viral With False Communal Claim
Following heavy rains in Ajmer, a part of the temple on Malusar Road collapsed. To prevent any mishappening, the administration, with the consent of the local people, demolished the temple. However, the video of this incident is now being shared with a false communal claim.

New Delhi (Vishvas News). A video from Ajmer, Rajasthan, showing a temple being demolished with a JCB, is being shared on social media with a false and communal claim. The viral post alleges that the temple was demolished because it was obstructing the way to the Ajmer mosque.
Vishvas News investigated the viral claim and found that a part of the temple had collapsed due to rain. The temple was demolished after everyone consented to avoid any accident. A new temple will be built in the same place.

Instagram user ‘bjeshruchi’ shared the video on August 26, 2025 (archive link) with the claim “Temple that came in the way of Ajmer mosque was demolished.”
Investigation
Upon searching the key frame of the viral video with Google Lens, we found a video report uploaded on July 26, 2025, on the YouTube channel of News 18, Rajasthan. According to the report, “A part of a 50-year-old temple in Ajmer collapsed due to heavy rains, after which there was a fear of an accident. In view of this, the administration demolished the entire temple with the mutual consent of all parties. Before demolishing the temple, all the idols were removed from there. A new temple will soon be built in place of the old temple. In the video news, footage of a part of the temple collapsing due to rain, and the viral video clip can also be seen.”
Rajasthan’s local YouTube channel MTTV INDIA also reported on this incident. As per the report, “The rear part of the Shiva temple located on Malusar Road in Ajmer collapsed due to rain. After this, fearing an accident, the administration removed the idols from the temple and demolished the rest of the structure. This video news was uploaded on July 26, 2025.”

According to the news report published on Dainik Bhaskar’s website on July 26, 2025, “There was rain in some areas of the city along with strong winds in Ajmer. Due to rain, the rear part of the Krishna Kanhaiya temple in KK Colony, located on Malusar Road, fell into the stepwell. After this, the administration discussed with the local people and demolished the temple building.”
A video news related to this has also been uploaded on the Facebook page of Rajasthan Patrika on July 26.
To verify the claim, we contacted Manish Singh, a local journalist from Ajmer, who clarified that the rear part of the temple had collapsed due to rain. In view of the possibility of an accident, the administration had demolished the remaining part. The routes to the Ajmer Dargah and Malusar Road are different, making the claim about the temple’s demolition false.
The users who shared the video of the temple being demolished in Ajmer with a false claim are influenced by an ideology and have also shared other such inflammatory and communal posts.
Conclusion: Following heavy rains in Ajmer, a part of the temple on Malusar Road collapsed. To prevent any mishappening, the administration, with the consent of the local people, demolished the temple. However, the video of this incident is now being shared with a false communal claim.
