Fact Check: Actress Ankita Lokhande’s Husband Vicky Jain Is Alive, Fake Death Claims Viral

New Delhi (Vishvas News). A social media post claiming that actress Ankita Lokhande’s husband, Vicky Jain, passed away in a road accident is going viral.

Vishvas News fact-checked the claim and found it to be fake. There are no reports of his death. The viral funeral photos date back to 2023 and 2024, taken from the funerals of Ankita’s father and her pet dog, respectively.

What is in the viral post?

On March 17, 2025, Instagram user ‘Bigg Boss Universe’ (Archive Link) shared a viral collage. One frame shows Ankita performing the last rites at a pyre, while the other depicts a body covered with flowers. The post was shared with the caption, “There is heartbreaking news that Vicky Jain, Ankita Lokhande’s husband, passed away in a car accident.”

Investigation

We began our investigation with a keyword search and found no reports confirming Vicky Jain’s death. 

Next, we checked Vicky Jain’s social media accounts and discovered that he had posted a story just 10 hours ago, confirming that he is active online.

We also checked Ankita Lokhande’s social media pages and found that she is active online, having posted a story just an hour ago, indicating that all is well.

We did the Google Reverse Image Search to verify the funeral images, used in the viral post.

First picture

Using Google Lens, we found the photo was from the last rites of Ankita’s father in 2023. We found this exact image in an India TV news report, published on August 13, 2023, which stated: “Actor Ankita Lokhande lost her father Shashikant Lokhande on Saturday, who passed away in Mumbai at the age of 68. His last rites took place at Mumbai’s Oshiwara Crematorium on Sunday.”

Second Image

A reverse image search of the second image led us to a news report by India.com, published on February 5, 2024. The report covered the death of Ankita and Vicky’s pet dog. According to the news report: ” Bollywood actress Ankita Lokhande and her husband Vicky Jain mourned the loss of their beloved furry companion, Scotch. The heartbreaking news was shared by the couple on their respective Instagram accounts, leaving fans and well-wishers expressing condolences.”

Smita Srivastava, a senior entertainment journalist from Dainik Jagran, Mumbai, confirmed that the news is misleading and there are no reports of Vicky Jain’s death.  

The viral claim was shared by a Facebook user ‘Bigg Boss Universe’, who has over 38000 followers.

Conclusion: Vishvas News investigated the viral post and found that the claim about Vicky Jain’s death is fake.
