Investigation

To investigate the post, we first searched the image on Google reverse image. We found a news report from India Today published on July 4, 2011 that clarified that Amitabh Bachchan arrived at the Ajmer Sharif Dargah. In the photo gallery, we saw the same picture of Amitabh Bachchan, which is going viral recently with the false claim that he is in Haji Ali Dargah.

For further clarifications we decided to find if Bachchan visited Haji Ali Dargah after recovering from coronavirus. We did not find any such news from authentic sources that said about his visit to Haji Ali Dargah post covid-19 recovery.

We contacted our colleague and Chief Correspondent for Bollywood Smita Srivastava in Dainik Jagran to verify the claim. “This picture of Amitabh Bachchan is not from any recent event. The viral claim is completely fake,” Srivastava said.
