Fact Check: Video Claiming A Woman Fooled A Robot Is Edited

New Delhi (Vishvas News). A video circulating on social media has sparked discussions about human intelligence surpassing Artificial Intelligence (AI). The clip shows a woman outsmarting a robot by stealing its bag, leading many to claim it as proof that natural intelligence trumps AI.
However, Vishvas News’ investigation revealed that the claim is false. The video in question has been edited, and in the original footage, there was no robot—only a human.
What is in the viral post?
Instagram user ‘punjabbeyond‘ shared the viral video (archive link) on March 20, 2025., with the caption, “The woman steals the bag from the hand of a robot and confuses the robot.”
Investigation
To begin our investigation, we closely analysed the video. When the robot turns, a blurred line appears along its edges, raising suspicion that this video may be edited.
Continuing our investigation, we searched the keyframes from this video using Google Lens. We found the original video uploaded on March 11, 2025, on a YouTube channel named ‘Jiangxi Peng Lao Watch 0K7n’. In this original video, there’s no robot involved – only a woman stealing a carry bag from a man. It turns out that the viral clip has been altered by mirroring the original video and replacing the man with a robot, creating the illusion that the machine was outwitted.
To verify this, we spoke to video and computer graphic expert Arun Kumar. He confirmed that the video was edited, stating, “The edges of the robot in the video are quite blurred and a white line can be seen around it during movements. This is a clear sign of elements that have been edited and pasted into the original footage.”
Instagram account ‘punjabbeyond’, who shared the viral video with a false claim, has over 1.6 lakh followers.
