People are sharing old videos with the false claim that they are recent.

New Delhi (Vishvas News). Footballer Lionel Messi recently visited India for his ‘GOAT India Tour 2025’, with stops in Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Delhi. During this visit, several misleading claims have gone viral on social media. One widely shared video shows a packed stadium with elaborate lighting and is being circulated as footage from a Messi event held in Gujarat.
Another video, showing large crowds lining a road, is being claimed as visuals of fans gathering to welcome Messi on his arrival in Hyderabad.
Vishvas News investigated and found the viral claim to be false. The first video dates back to January 2025, from a Coldplay concert in Ahmedabad. The second video is from 2024, when actor Allu Arjun visited the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad to promote his film ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’, and the crowd gathered to see him during the event. Both videos are now being shared with the false claim that they are recent and have no connection to the current situation.
What is in the viral post?
Facebook user ‘Keya Bose‘ (archive link) shared the viral video on December 15, 2025, with the caption, “Messi’s event in Gujarat.”
A social media user named ‘GOAT Info‘ also shared a video of Messi’s visit, claiming it was from Hyderabad.
Investigation
First Video
To verify the authenticity of the viral video, we took screenshots of the video and searched them using Google Lens. We found the video on the verified Facebook page of ‘MyGovIndia‘, uploaded on January 26, 2025. According to the information provided, “It is from a Coldplay concert held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.”
We found the news related to the video on the website ‘ ndtv.com ‘. The news published on January 27, 2025, stated, “British band Coldplay concluded their ‘Music of the Spheres World Tour’ in India with a spectacular show in Ahmedabad. The concert was held at the Narendra Modi Stadium, where thousands of fans were seen dancing to Coldplay’s hit songs.”

We contacted Jeevan Kapuria, associate editor of Gujarati Jagran, regarding the video. He explained that the video is from Ahmedabad, while Messi visited Vantara in Jamnagar. There was no Messi event in Ahmedabad.
Second Video
We uploaded screenshots of the video to Google Lens. We found the video on an X account owned by an account named ‘AAdhii’, dated November 26, 2025, which claims it’s from the film ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule.’
We also found a similar video on the YouTube channel of ‘News Buzz’, uploaded on December 5, 2024. According to the information provided, “This video is from the premiere of the film ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’, when Allu Arjun visited the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad.”
