Investigation
The viral reel combines two different videos, so we investigated both videos separately.
First video
We extracted the key frames from the first video and searched them using Google Lens. This led us to a video uploaded on the YouTube channel of Times Now, which stated, that the incident took place in Aligarh, where some bike riders shot and killed a person.
Based on this, we searched for the news and found a report on Dainik Jagran’s website on March 15. According to the report, “A case of a bullet attack on a person named Harris came to light in Aligarh. Harris was standing outside his house during Sehri, when suddenly two motorcycle riders reached there and attacked him. Harris died in the attack.
Meanwhile, the police say that the attack on Harris is probably the result of enmity, but other aspects are also being investigated.”
In a March 16 report by The Indian Express, “The police was quoted as saying that no arrests have been made so far and efforts are on to identify the criminals by examining the available CCTV footage.”
To verify the viral video, we contacted Surjeet, senior correspondent at Dainik Jagran in Aligarh, who confirmed that no arrests have been made in this case so far and the police investigation is still ongoing
Second video
We conducted a Google Lens search using keyframes from the second viral video. This led us to a news report on the Livemint website, uploaded on March 15, 2025, which stated: “Gujarat police beat up goons for allegedly attacking commuters and vandalising vehicles with sticks and swords in Ahmedabad’s Vastral area on Thursday..”

A report by News 24 Online also stated, “A day before Holi in Gujarat, the goons of the Bhavsar gang broke the law and order in Ahmedabad and created a ruckus on the streets and attacked the passengers with sticks and swords. Along with this, many vehicles running on the road were vandalized. A video of this incident surfaced, after which the Ahmedabad Police came into action. Now the police have caught these goons and are beating them fiercely. The police shared this video of the beating of the goons on social media.”
Next, we conducted a social media scan of the Instagram user ‘Khan Ahmed Ji’ who shared the fake post and found that the user has 218 followers.
