What is the viral post?
Facebook user ‘Dj Prince‘ shared a reel on February 28, 2026, claiming that PM Narendra Modi announced a special aid package for the Taliban while speaking in the Knesset.

Investigation
To verify the veracity of the viral claim, we first conducted a keyword search. We found no credible media reports corroborating the claim that PM Modi mentioned a special aid package for the Taliban in his speech.
We then examined the official transcript of the Prime Minister’s speech released by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on February 25, 2026. According to the transcript, the main focus of the address was India-Israel defence cooperation, counter-terrorism efforts, and shared democratic values. There is no mention of ‘Afghanistan,’ ‘Taliban,’ or any ‘special aid package’ in the entire speech.
We performed a reverse image search of key frames from the viral clip, which led us to the original livestream uploaded to YouTube by the Israeli government’s press office. This video contains PM Modi’s full address, in which he discusses bilateral relations.
We used AI detection tools to verify the authenticity of the viral video.
Hive Moderation flagged the video with a 91% probability of being AI-generated.

The Truth Scan tool also found it to be 95% AI-generated.

We spoke with AI and emerging technology expert Azahar Machweh about the video. After technical analysis, they confirmed that the PMs expressions and voice coordination in the video were artificial, clearly proving it to be an AI-created deepfake.
