Fact Check: Viral Video of US Plane Crash in Iran is Actually A Gaming Simulation

New Delhi (Vishvas News). Amidst ongoing tensions between the US, Israel, and Iran, a video of a plane crash has begun circulating widely across social media platforms. Accompanying the footage is the claim that an American aircraft has been shot down and destroyed within Iranian territory.
However, our investigation has confirmed that this claim is misleading. The viral footage is not a real-world event but was created using digital graphics and gaming simulations.
What is viral?
Facebook user ‘Arun Gautam Ji’ shared a reel on March 5, 2026, showing the destruction of an American plane in a desert area. Sharing the video, the user wrote, “American aircraft destroyed in the Iranian desert.”
Investigation
To verify the authenticity of the clip, we conducted a reverse image search of key frames. Our search led to the YouTube channel ‘@HarishKarwasra-o7p’, where the same video was uploaded on March 5, 2026, featuring a watermark for ‘RedGaming881’.
Further tracking of the ‘RedGaming881’ handles revealed the original source. The video was first uploaded to their Facebook and Instagram pages on March 3, 2026. The page bio explicitly states it shares clips from simulation games. Speaking to Vishvas News, the page admin, Arfaz Alam, confirmed: “This gaming footage is recorded by me.”
We contacted gaming influencer and founder of Dynamo Games, Anish Jain, regarding the viral clip. He explained, “The viral clip is a simulation clip recorded during a ‘War Battle Game’.”
Facebook user Arun Gautam, who shared the video, has 6,000 followers.
